This is exactly what we were looking for and it arrived promptly. The box itself was damaged at both ends and that made it unwieldy to move it safely (it is very heavy!) but that was clearly weight to great for the construction of the packaging. They probably get damage claims because the box is insufficient protection for the weight of the metal. Moving on to assembly, it was straightforward to assemble following the instructions provided, and the lighting is a super bonus for us, but the product loses a star because Two of the long bolts and one of the short support pieces was missing from the box and so we cannot install those important supports. Not sure if we will move forward with use of the product without them, but as far as assembly and aesthetics, it is really good. Although we received it as part of a promotion, for the price currently advertised, we believe it is a good value (providing all the pieces are included and you can ensure the stability and safety in use.). This was a big pain to install! Took about 7-8 hours with about 3 of us (we had 2 kids help us so we count them as half each because they were in and out with their "help" lol). Between making sure the bars didnt turn on you and only tightening at 70% but at the end having to find all 100 of the screws to tightening them.... it was a lot. Also I know the sides come with a warning, but please please remember the low ceilings when you have the bed frame up. Adults hits their heads 3 times each before we got the memo. Ouch! However, when all was said and done, my daughter was very happy. The bed edge makes me nervous for sleep purposes, but going to look into possibly a thinner mattress. Maybe even a bed rail of sorts. The bottom loft is very roomy. Has a lot of table space and even the drawers have a lot of room to them. I didn't realize they were cloth drawers, but they are nice and fit a lot. Assembly wasn't to difficult, but did take about 4 hours to put it together by myself. Hardest part was getting the bed slats that go under the mattress to line up with both sides of the frame to go into the holes, but once you figure it out it's smooth sailing. Overall, very solid and sturdy. Stairs are a nice touch over a ladder and the little shelf cubbies make a good place for small stuff. The space underneath is a perfect fit for a 78" couch. This is a great bed. It was time-consuming to assemble but not hard or confusing. I love the stairs as opposed to a ladder because it’s much safer, and it also has the additional storage underneath the stairs. The desk is a good size and there are many outlets available for all different cords. The LED lights are really fun and they’re bright, but they do not stick very well, and I had to use almost all of the Velcro straps in order to secure the lights all around the bed. This bed took me a long time to assemble because it has so. many. parts. The instructions are fairly straightforward except for the step where you have to figure out on which side you want ladder. Its unclear if the diagram is showing you a right or left setup and the call-out telling you how to position one of the legs to make it right or left is confusing. Otherwise its good quality and *seems* sturdy. I like that the ladder rungs have some ridges on them so your feet wont slide, and that the sides are tall enough for a 8 inch mattress. The bed looks great and feels sturdy once fully assembled. I love the extra storage space and how it maximizes room layout. However, my order was missing some parts, which was frustrating. Wayfair’s customer service was helpful, and they offered me a partial refund, but I still had to take the time to find and replace the parts myself. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase, but I recommend checking for all parts upon arrival. If everything had been included from the start, this would have been a perfect 5-star experience.
