If they get too cool, their metabolism slows (and in conditions that are too hot or too cold, they enter states of inactivity or hibernation).Maintaining the appropriate temperature is vital to bodily functions such as digestion. It is important to provide the proper temperature conditions in order for the animal to grow and thrive. For many reptiles, it is not simply a matter of providing a constant temperature, however. They require a thermal gradient or a range of temperatures from a high end to a low end. Thus, the animal can move to a higher temperature or lower temperature to suit its needs at any given time.

We love this unit, it is gorgeous. Our bearded dragon is very happy. Not sure why the reviews are mixed/bad. It is very big so if placed on a small space it might look awkward. We love that the Bearder dragon has a lot of space to move around. I will suggest to the company instead of wood in the back to add glass or plexiglass, I will upgrade it later, I thought of it after putting together. Our dragon likes to look outside the window, we put him next to a window so having see thru material will be better for us.. Jana Vargas-lora. Mooresville, NC. Sat Sep 05 2026

Easy to put together if you follow the directions, but there are A LOT of parts. Great storage and space for our bearded dragon. I only gave 4 stars because there's no protection on the plastic pieces (that serve as the "glass") and they scratch immediately. Our bearded dragon glass surfed the first time she was put in and it immediately messed up the clear sections.. Michelle. TX. Sun Sep 20 2026
