This type of joinery has been used for years in quality furniture making and ensures stability and durability on every piece. Each piece is made to replicate antique/reclaimed wood parts and pieces, which means each item is unique. To provide this look, cracks, knots, knot-holes, splits and uneven rubbed edges are purposely left intact from original pieces of wood and in many instances additional man-made distressing is given to emphasize its rustic charm. These are not product defects but unique features that add beauty and character. Accordingly, expansion or shrinkage, small cracks and wood imperfection are inherent qualities of our product. Variation is what makes each piece unique, natural and exclusive.
This bed exceeded my expectations. It is majestic large and in charge. The quality is decent and the color and aging are a nice touch. The one thing that I wish a reviewer would of mentioned or the ad is how high off the floor it is. I'm 5'5 and had to buy a 6" step stool and I barely still can get up into the bed.
