These photos are after a summer of it being outside and it still looks incredible. The “patina” -rust in this case-has added more charm to it, without damaging any structural integrity. So expect a little of that unless you live in a dry area.
I bought this because a true blue heron has invaded our koi pond and attempts to curtail this majestic bird from snacking on our fish failed, including a static model that looks identical, sans wing movement and a water spray detection that only sprayed me. Annoying.
Bottom line-this has worked! I’ve witnessed several standoffs between this metal bird against the real bird. Fascinating.for sure, but metal bird won every time. At least so far
The real heron is here because there is a large pondsmall lake behind our yard where it typically hunts and should hunt. Golden fish are too easy to pickoff so itd rather get the fast food. Who doesn’t
Bottom line..
I’ve since slowly restocked and haven’t had issues.
