Assembly took about 2 hours with two people, but the instructions were straightforward and the finished product was definitely worth the time. It is not real wood, so I would be careful with the surface—I wouldn’t place hot pans directly on it or set drinks down without a coaster. That said, it looks and feels like a much more expensive piece of furniture once assembled. We are using ours as a homeschool craft and project table, and it is PERFECT for that! This is a great product. It’s wasn’t difficult to put together but it took a long time due to so many pieces. It took about 5.5 hours to assemble for one person but I think would be quicker and easier with 2 people. Amazing! It’s perfect for my small studio apartment. I hired someone to install so I can’t speak on the installation process but the finished product speaks for itself. The island arrived with a dent right on the top. It also appears to have alignment issues, which prevents some of the pieces from fitting together properly. There were also missing pre-drilled holes for certain screws, making assembly more difficult than it should have been. The finish chips extremely easily as well.
