Bought this for my mom’s new place. I’ve been putting a lot of furniture together recently and this was actually not that hard to put together. I will say- you have to pay attention to every picture because I definitely ended up putting 2 parts together wrong and then needed to back track slightly. It still only took 2.5hrs for me to put together and i only needed mild help with lining up the screws and holes since lifting a part of the island and lining them up was difficult. If you are someone who hates allen wrenches i have great news - this is put together almost 100% with just plain old screws and a screwdriver. The last part does use an allen wrench but only for 8 screws and it is done. All the parts are labeled and for the most part packaged in order of the parts you need. I absolutely love this solid real wood island! You can't beat the price. Well it is real wood, it is a lighter wood. I did have a few small pieces with some splintering defects because of this, but nothing a little wood glue can't fix. Other than that, I didn't have any issues with assembly like what other reviewers noted. I found assembly to be rather easy. The pieces were all numbered, but a lot of the numbers had fallen off in the box or elsewhere. This wasn't a big deal as the instructions have good pictures and I was able to figure out which pieces correlated with which numbers. I was a little skeptical because this Kitchen Island was fairly inexpensive. I opted to pay to have it assembled and that was done today. I love it. It has as much space as i hoped since it was only 43" long and the cabinets and drawers are ample size to hold a lot of kitchen items. This is so much more useful than the table and chairs for two that I had there before. The Island is sturdy, attractive and versatile. The stools are very comfortable. My only complaint is that before ordering I called Wayfair customer service to find out if I could purchase the item but delay delivery. The person i spoke to assured me that as soon as I had a tracking number I could contact Fed Ex and reschedule. I got the tracking number too late to stop the delivery which came in two days instead of three as noted on the order. Most people would not complain about this but I had a flight the day of delivery; luckily it arrived before I had to leave for the airport. I’m really happy with this island! Every single part is solid wood (pine), the finish is lovely - even and applied well. The legs are solid and substantial The top is thick, and my piece didn’t have any joinery issues at all. It was easy to put together, just read through the instructions beforehand a couple of times. This island is beautiful and looks great in our kitchen. It comes in about a million pieces with various similar looking screws and 32 steps to put together. It is definitely a two person job just FYI. I'd estimate it took us 4.5+ hours. We had to go back and disassemble and redo some steps.
