Seems to be made of quality, heavy duty wood. It comes in three boxes and took about two hours to put together. The blue section is not attached in anyway so you could choose to not use it. The size is great for a larger room and tv. The grayish brown coloring is nice and neutral so can go with any decor style. The fluted cabinet and drawer fronts add a touch of texture to the piece. I really like the look of this in our living room in the walnut finish, our living room is Urbane Bronze with a beige sofa and the new tv center really brings it together. My only complaints are with the factory, the doors are not perfectly straight because of where they bore the holes and the installation pamphlet had clearly been on the factory floor with nasty grey dust, bent, and a perfect boot print on the cover. Quite a nice TV stand! It arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. The instructions were clear and it was easy to put together by myself. Feels solid and looks great. I do wish it had an inch or two more internal height, but it worked out. The slatted doors allowed me to put the speakers inside the cabinet. It does affect the sound some, but not enough to be a problem for me. I bought a smaller center channel speaker and was able to fit that into the center part with the A/V receiver after modifying the shelf for fit and ventilation (see pics).
