This is a gorgeous ladder, and well-made. It has hooks at the top and slides smoothly along the rail. It can be extended for use, then stored upright. The natural color is pretty but could be stained if you wanted to. It’s sturdy, even with just one brake locked. The ladder was easy to put together—I recommend loosely fastening all the pieces into place first, then strategically tighten all screws to secure. The rail was also easy to install. The part that attaches to the wall can slide to where you need it, then tightened. We removed one bracket, used a laser level to mark the holes and pre-drill them on the bookshelf, then loosened all the brackets so we could slide them into place to secure. The hardware itself is solid, but the provided screws were cheap. We replaced them with some better screws and had no problems after that. The directions are lacking, but not hard to figure out. The height of the rail is a bit flexible because of the hook mechanism, so that was convenient. (You do need to have a drill bit for getting through the wood itself to install the hooks.). Betsy. Fantastic! We bought the ladder plus two 4ft extension kits to span the width of this library wall. The ladder was not complicated to build, the ladder feels sturdy, glides easily and smoothly. The wheel locks are easy to apply and keep the ladder firmly in place when you are on it. I feel very safe using this ladder all the way to reaching the books on the highest shelf, 12feet up! Very happy with this purchase!. Karen. Saskatoon, SK. Wed Sep 09 2026

This steel wood library ladder is crafted from a rugged iron frame and rich, widened wooden steps. The full-length black steel handrails run continuously from base to top, giving you unwavering support with every step and eliminating the wobble common in rail-less designs. Whether you’re carrying storage bins or heading up for a cozy retreat, the thickened treads provide a secure, confident foothold.

Love the combination of black metal and natural wood. This ladder has a clean, modern look that works beautifully in our rustic space. The steps are generously sized, and the overall design feels sturdy and substantial without being bulky. A practical piece that also makes a great visual statement!. Rachel. Arrowsic, ME. Really cool little ladder. Perfect for what I wanted with hand rails and something I can tuck in when not in use. It’s even better than I expected, as it’s wide enough I can start my descent facing forward (with my back to the ladder, like I’m going down a set of stairs) and then I can easily turn around on the ladder using the handrails, which makes getting in and out of our loft so much easier..
