It reclines to a point that you could easily fall asleep in it (and the reclining mechanism works well). My reason for 4 stars instead of 5... the stool. The stool's base is to small. As you rotate a bit in the chair and your feet move from the center of the stool, the stool becomes out of balanced and can tip. I purchased two and they are definitely worth the investment. These recliners are very comfortable to sit and lounge in with. It reclines just shy of flat. The recliner also has built in usb ports for charging devices the side when relaxing, however power is needed for charging and reclining. Once I purchased they were tagged online as out of stock. I was skeptical to order these sight unseen. I ordered late on a Saturday night and they were delivered Monday morning. So fast! I was concerned about getting them into the house and put together. The chairs are very beautiful and look very elegant. However, they do have some flaws. The sides did come with some leather damage. The legs had some nicks, and the back flap looks unfinished when the back is exposed to view. In my opinion the back could use some extra velcro to lay the flap flat against the chair. That takes away from the quality of this elegant chair, hence why I gave it a 4. This order also had some extraordinary delays in delivery. So, we had to wait more time than expected. Then upon delivery they had the damages I described were found. At the present time I am waiting to hear from the seller to see what can be done. I will post an update.
