The background is a true grey contrasting with the white stems leaves. The leaf edges and stems are nicely textured but the leaves are flat to the canvas. The edges of the leaves are distressed on the textured layer. The back does not come with a hanging wire but does have two metal bands with teeth for hanging. There are two substantial wood braces in back for stability. There are a few flaws in the painting, not very noticeable, such as slight indentation in the canvas and spots where the grey paint has splotched onto the white leaf.
