Unbelievable quality, love the beautiful soft pink/lavender color of Shallot, and while I haven't cooked with this product (I've used many other le Creuset items, and I know the quality's there), I can see this dish being used for au gratin potatoes, pork chops, pork loin, roasted vegetables, cobbler, and I'm sure dishes I haven't thought of. I purchased the 5 qt size. It is very large, comfortably holds 8 boneless chicken thighs for braising flat against the bottom surface. Neither the electric heating element on my glass cooktop stove nor my PIC Inversion Cooktop are able to heat the outer edge of this pan because of its very large diameter. If using electric or PIC Inversion Cooktop, perhaps consider purchasing the 3.5 quart or smaller for best heat distribution while cooking. Clean up was easy in warm soapy water.
