Wayfair tint review Omg, okay, if I can do this, almost ANYONE can do this! This was window tint stuff was necessary because I live by the beach with south-facing sliding doors that had no blinds when I moved in a few months ago. I ordered it in May 2026. It’s mid-April now and the sun is getting hotter with every passing day. So, I decided today that I need to just bite the bullet and try to do this myself. I hadn’t done it yet because I wasn’t sure what to expect based on the reviews… [Btw, I’m 46 F, single, my dad just passed away (he was great did all the handyman stuff whenever I needed anything) and I do have a brother but he lives 1.5 hours away.] Well, I used a baby shampoo from the Dollar Tree Store to clean the sliders a few days ago. Oh, and I used that brown paper that comes as “filling” in delivery boxes instead of paper towels to clean. Anyway, it only took about 4-5 minutes to cover the first slider door I did! I still can’t believe it! It took about 45 minutes to do the stationary window slider, however. The roll was too wide to fit right up against the window pane so I had to figure out how to cut the roll down to size. I seriously wish i had a little saw because that would have made it soooo much faster easier. Once the roll was narrow enough to put up against the window, it only took about another 5 minutes until it was finished! (I accidentally trimmed off some of the weather stripping, though, so be careful.) And now I’m leaving this review while I’m ordering another roll for my other south facing windows!. Kristen. This design is very pretty, and I love it! There is barely any odor, and it dissipated right away. My one-bedroom apartment has a slim window next to the front door with window blinds. I keep the blinds slightly open for more light and to feel less closed in. I wanted a privacy film to be able to have the blinds open and create more light and openness, as apartment living usually means a unit's windows all face one direction. The door and this slim window face a different direction. It's not full coverage/privacy, and that's okay. Someone outside would have to put their face right up to get a clear view of the inside, and I doubt anyone would be doing that. I've included photos from the inside and outside my door, plus during different times of the day with varying sunlight, and with the blinds how I used to keep them closed. There is a little bit of rainbow effect, depending on how much sunlight hits the film. Note #1: from the outside, a lot of soap/water bubbles showed, and it's necessary to keep smoothing them out. You may not see the bubbles from outside if your window is above the first floor with no way to easily access it from outside, but then it won't matter anyway. I used a microfiber cloth for the finishing touches. Note #2: while applying and smoothing out the water, have a cloth to soak up the water that will be getting squeezed out to the edges. This is an "easy to put up" way to make small windows beautiful and NOT see through! I have a small window by my front door and I am not always dressed until late morning (hey at 72, I've earned my late mornings!) so I like to be able to look and see outside without someone at my door getting a good look at ME in my PJs! This is beautiful, but I actually can't see through it enough to get an idea of who is outside, so I may use it to dress up my shower area instead. But it DOES let in a lot of light and is BEAUTIFUL on a window! (See pictures.) If you want to cover up a window but still let in light, this is the item for you. If your window is larger than 2 X 3 you will need to order two sheets. All you do is peel off the backing and use the included flat scrapper to wipe any bubbles out and it STICKS and STAYS! It does not have adhesive on the back so there is no cleanup needed if you change your mind. If it starts to loosen, just spray a bit of water on the back and it sticks again. Easy-peesy!. Marlene. The product itself is great, it's as pictured. It was a little hard for me to install because my windows are kind of hard for me to reach. You will need a squeegee to install it and a spray bottle with soapy water. It would have been helpful to have a box cutter and a large ruler as well. My edges turned out a little sloppy because of my poor cutting with scissors. Overall they serve their purpose of distracting from the ugly view out of my window.
