A quick search online between the big box, appliance stores and direct website resulted in the purchase direct from Frigidaire. Especially convenient was the option to have it installed, since it was going to be placed in the basement. We really like the quiet operation, the glass shelves, a basket at the bottom and the door shelves. This model FFUE1626AW is larger than the previous freezer (which was getting packed sometimes after impulse purchases of on sale meat) - more like the size of a regular fridge, possibly taller. It also has a modern look with the curved door - unlike most which are flat and look like a so-so appliance. This freezer will allow us to break up the purchases into smaller quantities and still have room for more. I had three garage freezers before, and they died because they were not designed for the garage. This one understands the assignment. It can get hot in my garage and it works anyway. My other models died after 1-2 years. I pack this with discounted bulk buy meat from a central CA market I found. I wrap them in smaller meal sizes and store it for gradual use. I purchased a quarter steer and needed a freezer with enough space to store it. This may have been an over kill but I am so happy I got it. I wanted an upright freezer because I’m limited on space. One thing I wasn’t expecting is for it to be so tall. It’s about the size of a refrigerator otherwise which worked out perfectly. I absolutely love that it has a lock up near the top. Really handy to keep the kids out of it. The temperature can be programmed easily. There is so much space in this freezer. A quarter steer only took up a shelf and a half.
