These are nice and work as expected. I didn't expect a remote for each candle, but there is one. Be smarter than me: one remote will operate all of them (I bought 4) so don't pull the plastic off all your remote batteries. Just use one and save the other remote in reserve until your batteries go out (as replacements). The candles need AA batteries, but the remotes come with their own batteries.
