This is a very nice five knife set that has everything you need. It includes a large, 8 inch, serrated edge knife which grips excellently. There are two other 8 inch slicing knives as well as a 5 inch utility knife. It also includes a set of kitchen scissors. I really needed these! The block (holder) has a round compartment for the scissors. Having a white holder sits so much nicer than the basic wood butcher block. There is plenty of space for other knives as well.
