A few years ago I bought a beautiful crate for her that looked like furniture, but the problem was that the top was a wood-like surface that screwed on with four corner screws. When the little magician was in stress, she would arch her back and lift until the lid came unscrewed. She can't perform this trick on my new crate. I recently became an unexpected mom to a huge 9-months-old border collie. I needed a good sturdy kennel and wanted one that was attractive as well. I really love this kennel. It is very large, but it's what I needed. I had some difficulty putting it together by myself, but it is very doable. I also purchased the beautiful pillow shown inside in the attached photo from Wayfair, but the pillow is a little too lofty for my dog. Overall the crate is very nice, putting it together took quite a few hours but it came together. I took a star away because it’s kinda hard to open the front doors without putting your whole arm through the crate bars to unlatch the bottom & top. Also one side of the front crate door hinges didnt properly go in all the way so the doors are a little uneven. My Great Pyrenees has separation anxiety and escaped other types of crates. He destroyed personal property because of his anxiety, and he was going to hurt himself escaping the wire crates. Excellent size, functional shape, very sturdy, and not heavy enough to ruin your floors. I couldn't have found a better quality crate for my 70 lb Dutch shepherd mix. Even at 14 months he's a very tall pup and yet is still able to sit up fully inside.
