It took longer than expected to receive the countertop but it arrived in immaculate condition and looks amazing. I put on 3 thin coats of wipe-on water based satin polyurethane to protect it and sanded lightly with steel wool in between coats. The polyurethane really brought out the color without adding too much sheen - it is gorgeous. I know there were some unfavorable reviews for this countertop but I recommend it highly.. Terrell. This reclaimed wood floating wall shelf adds a rustic touch to kitchens, entryways and home offices. Each shelf is made from reclaimed wood that had a different use before being repurposed into a stunning shelf. I was concerned about the weight of this floating shelf. It seemed strange to mount something so heavy to a wall since most of the items I will display on it won't weigh as much as the shelf on its own. There is a metal mounting bracket that you at first mount on the wall using the included screws. I had to screw holes in this bracket to match the width of the studs in the wall I planned to mount it to. Once the bracket was mounted on the wall, the shelf slides onto the lip easily. I am using this shelf as a makeshift mantel. The shelf is quite heavy and it feels like petrified wood. Overall it is a very attractive shelf and makes for an attractive fireplace mantel.. Richard. It is a very nice shelf but I thought it would be 12” deep for the entire length of the shelf and there is just the middle spot that maybe reach 12” the other part of the shelf are around 8-9” at the most. We built a new home in 2020-2021 (quite an experience with the supply problem) and used five beams in the living room. They were easy to install but we had a few places where we had to touch up the cut areas. We called them and because we didnt have time to wait for the touch up kits they told us what color and kind of stain to get. It turned out fine but I wish we had known about the touch up kits beforehand. As soon as the scaffolding was taken away we forgot where the touch ups were.
