For the price I paid I cannot complain. However I have been using a 25 year old KA mixer baking Christmas cookies with friends. The quality on the older model was much better… as they say, they don’t build ‘em like they used to! Mostly notice the difference in quality of the bowl (no handle! what) and the attachments.. The KitchenAid® Artisan Plus Stand Mixer is built to handle a wide range of mixing tasks with precision and consistency, making it a reliable foundation for everyday cooking and baking. Designed to thoroughly incorporate ingredients, the beater reaches at least 59 touchpoints around the bowl, helping ensure even mixing whether you’re working with thick doughs or heavier batters. With 11 preset speeds and Precision Speed Control, you can quickly select a setting or smoothly transition between speeds to match the needs of each recipe. An integrated light automatically illuminates the bowl when the mixer is in use, while features like Soft Start help reduce splatter by gradually increasing speed. The included double flex edge beater continuously scrapes the sides of the bowl as it mixes, minimizing the need to stop and manually scrape ingredients. A full set of durable, stainless-steel accessories—including a precision-welded bowl, dough hook, wire whisk, and flat beater—supports a variety of techniques, from kneading to whipping. For more delicate recipes, a ½ fold speed allows you to gently combine ingredients without deflating them. Compatible with additional attachments sold separately, it offers room to expand into new recipes and techniques over time.

Purchased for myself during the Mother’s Day sale & I am SO glad I did! New features I love are: the bowl light-just a game changer! The half speed-the flour sifting attachment never looked so seductive & there is zero mess, even without the spatter cover. Speaking of which-I love how it now grips the bowl! It used to slide to the sides constantly & now you can hold the bowl upside down & it won’t come off. And the bowl! The handle is much more comfortable & sturdy, the brushed finish looks impressive & cleaner-the shiny silver showed every water mark & finger print. I was worried the stand mixer would be hard to clean in the Cast Iron finish but it’s just the opposite! My old Matte Black Artisan showed finger prints & oil much more easily! It doesn’t seem lighter than my regular Artisan was, & it’s still pretty loud all the way up, due to the more powerful motor. Also the cord isn’t very long but now comes with a cord keeper band-a nice touch. The new attachments are heavier duty, easier to clean & work well. The bowl cover (sold separately) fits this bowl also. I can’t wait to try the new 3-in-1 pasta attachment! 10/10! Well done, KitchenAid! Go ahead & get it-you deserve it!. Compulsive1.
