Reasons for not giving a 5 it’s not as smart as other trash cans I’ve used where if you open it and it senses that you’re still emptying something, it will stay open. You can keep it open but you have to push the Open thing and then it doesn’t close automatically, you have to push Close to close it. This kitchen island from the drop top to the trashcan is wonderful to have in the kitchen. It has given me extras space to work on and I love all my pantry stuff right at my fingertips. It came well packed. It did take the whole afternoon to put it together. The only issue was the hole for the dowels didnt line up most of the time. They were off just enough for some frustration. This is a beautiful machine. Sleek, shiny and solid. I haven't found the batteries for it yet. Still unpacking from a house move, and where oh where could they be? But the mechanism works manually with ease. I'm sure it's going to work great once it's powered. And I love the size of it. Less trips to the trash can outside. Also, very simple to put together.
