These Hevea butcher block countertops were just what I wanted for my new office. They were well packaged and arrived without damage. A few coats of matte poly were easy to apply. Nice smooth edges too so no additional sanding needed. They were less than half the cost of what I could get through my local big box DIY store. I couldn't believe how good this looks on my bathroom countertops. It's very sturdy. It was not hard to work with and blends well when lining up the edges. I even overlapped a little and cut some odd shapes so it would look more natural. I even did the outside of my bath tub & caulked around. I do not recommend a polyurethane top coat because it dulled & gave slightly tan tint and really isnt necessary. Overall, a beautiful island once you get it put together. That is why I reduced rating from 5 to 4 stats. The instructions were just pictures and while some were expanded pictures, very difficult to figure out some areas. In addition, some pieces I had to reverse...maybe it was me but once I did that, things fit correctly.
