Kitchen Island With Wicker Baskets

The Painswick Storage Unit pairs a solid wood frame with a mixed-media storage layout, featuring two top drawers above four woven baskets. The removable baskets operate as pull-out bins with integrated cutout handles, allowing contents to be carried to other rooms or tucked completely out of sight. Measuring 29 inches wide and 27.5 inches high, the compact profile fits easily into entryways, bathrooms, or narrow hallways. Mixed Storage Layout: Two traditional pull-out drawers sit above four open cubbies, each fitted with a removable woven basket to organize household essentials while keeping visual clutter concealed. Removable Woven Baskets: The woven bins feature integrated cutout handles for easy access, allowing them to function as sliding drawers within the frame or standalone totes for carrying items across the room. Scalloped Base Apron: A subtly arched base apron softens the rectangular frame, while the solid top provides a stable surface for displaying lighting, trays, or everyday decor.. The shallow 13-inch depth makes it an ideal organizational drop zone for narrow entryways, mudrooms, or guest baths without restricting foot traffic. Wood and Woven Care: Wipe the frame clean with a damp cloth. Clean the woven baskets with a soft brush or vacuum attachment to remove dust. Avoid harsh chemicals on the finish.

The decorative side frames and shelf supports are made with coated steel tubing. The top panel is engineered wood covered with a painted finish. All paints and surface coatings are non-toxic. Frame and baskets fully disassemble and are shipped flat.

Messy photo...installation week. Great design, like color combo. Baskets are great for storage (see my quick labels in pic). Bought as a “starter” piece to see how it will work (scale, design, baskets) on a covered patio (in Florida high humidity). The baskets and bottom are sealed, but I resealed everything...including the basket bottoms. Couple of things (1) basket bottoms are 1-2” coated cardboard (i sealed, using drawer liners—for my location). The drawers hold all my stuff. The drawers just slide inout of drawer frames. (2) frame is metal but basket are natural (rattan) material. (3) top is laminate. I think I’ll put another material on the top, for interest and to bring it up a notch.. Christine. Boulder, CO.
