It feels substantial and sturdy, and the shelving underneath gives us tons of extra storage. Assembly took about 2 hours with two people, but the instructions were straightforward and the finished product was definitely worth the time. It is not real wood, so I would be careful with the surface—I wouldn’t place hot pans directly on it or set drinks down without a coaster. That said, it looks and feels like a much more expensive piece of furniture once assembled. We are using ours as a homeschool craft and project table, and it is PERFECT for that! This is a pretty nice island. It came rather quickly, and I would recommend having two people bring it inside as it is very heavy! I’m really happy with this kitchen island. Assembly definitely takes some time because there are a lot of pieces, but everything is clearly labeled and matched to the panels, so it’s easy to stay organized if you follow the instructions. This ended up being perfect for the space and a good deal for the price. Comes in two heavy boxes, but I had a hand truck to move them from the sidewalk to the kitchen, so I could by manage myself. I also put it together by myself, and it took a hot minute (multiple hours....hard to measure because I took mental breaks), but it wasn't hard. The pieces were all there, it wasn't confusing, just predictably tedious. Worth every second to gain the extra drawers and cabinet space. If i had a complaint, it's the the backside looks like exactly what it is (just the cheap panel), but it's no different than pictured plus it's where the barstools go anyway if you're worried about it. This product arrived on time and packaging was secure so it arrived in perfect condition. The directions were very clear and pictures were helpful too. The color of the unit was a lovely soft green true to photo. The butcher block top is wood veneer it looks good but wasn’t expecting particle board with veneer layer. Assembly was easy and able to be done by one person. Waiting to attach to until in kitchen when other arranging is done. For ease of moving piece while storing as the weight is in the butcher block top. Am very happy with the looks of the piece and the solid feel to the island while drawers and doors work very well..
