Assembly definitely takes some time because there are a lot of pieces, but everything is clearly labeled and matched to the panels, so it’s easy to stay organized if you follow the instructions. It’s a substantial piece of furniture. I like the color and I like the dimensions. I wish that it had come in one piece and not had to be put together, but I’m sure it was too big to ship. My only other qualm is the drawers… They’re not soft close and you have to push them in and then give them another hard push to get them to close completely. Phenomenal! I've had it for about 2 months. My only very minor complaint is that crumbs get caught in the grooves on the top. Nice island but the description said 31”H and that was exactly the reason I bought it. The actual item is 36”H. Wayfair gave a discount to keep the item and we cut it down to 33”. Had to order twice. The unit is shipped in two boxes and one of the boxes didn't show up. I was told a replacement was not available. When I was looking for another island it showed it was in stock so I ordered it again. Received in a timely manner. Seems like a waste of resources as I was told to discard of the box I received with the first order. We are handy people, it took about three hours to assemble. One of the drawer pilot holes were not correctly placed and we had to drill new holes. The unit comes with a generous bag of extra hardware but the one piece we needed was not included. We improvised with something we got at a local hardware store. Unit seems sturdy, not sure how the countertop will wear. Had company over today and received compliments. It is a nice style.
