As described. The cushion is firm / stiff, but comfortable. The back is low and a bit reclined, but also comfortable to lean against. Slightly high from the floor, but similar to dining room chairs and the cushioning might compress. Comes in a giant thin box that we were able to get up the steps and assemble without much trouble, but would be impossible for one person. We bought this for the foot of a king size bed and it is perfect for a place to put on shoes, rest a suitcase while packing, or drape a blanket over the back to pull up when one partner sleeps colder than the other.. Cushion is very firm do NOT recommend plopping down to test sitting. Double check the hardware before opening everything. We were missing a few long screws for the bottom, but had the right size at home and were able to substitute them in.
