This looks good, not cheap particle board. However, I can't give 5 stars because it is so cheaply made. I don't think it's obvious unless you've assembled it. The metal is so thin- two pieces were warped from shipping . The wood is super lightweight pine. You can carve in it with a fingernail. There are already several scuffs on it before assembly. The instructions are poor. We had to take apart and put back together several times because key details were not included. Also, it shows the last step is installing glass doors, but that's impossible to do with the top piece on so I had to take it off to put doors on. There drawer has no rail or fittings , so it doesn't close all the way. In all it's better than mdf , but not worth the $ and I have serious doubts it will hold up long without scratches .. Milo. Torn on this piece! I do like the real wood (it even smells like real wood) - and upon assembly it looks exactly like the product photo - which was the design that I wanted & preferred over other TV stand units. I did take a 'risk' on a product with no previous reviews, based on the general positive feedback of the vendor. To that point I will say the following: I have built numerous furniture items and do not attribute these complaints to "user error." Some connecting points between pieces were improperly aligned; the legs of the base would come together, but in such a way that there was not enough clearance between the bolt & the wood surface to screw/fit the nut onto the bolt. Additionally, some of the holes were not drilled deep enough to fit the screws into (see bottom screw hole of attached photo - filled in with wood) so the screws had to be forced through the wood. There was one case where the screw hole, fresh out of the box prior to any assembly, had already caused splintering into the exterior wall of the connecting joint (photo also attached). We love this tv cabinet. It wasn't that hard to put together as some other customers have mentioned. We did find a few places when putting on the top, the dowls would not line up with the holes so we had skip using them. The color of the cabinet is a bit darker than the picture, but I know all pieces are unique in color. There were 4 places we had scratches and 1 chip, but instead of sending it back or requesting new pieces, WF adjusted the price for us and made it right. Overall, this is a cool piece of furniture and looks great in our living room up against our WF washable area rug. Item delivered by Tavarus and Larry according to the card given to me by the driver. Delivery was hurried. Media center was brought in and set down. I was asked twice to sign for delivery without being given the chance to inspect item. I ignored the request both times. I found scratches, nicks, and a broken piece of wood next to the drawer. I did not sign for the delivery; the delivery team was in too much of a hurry to leave. They said I would receive a call from Wayfair within 15 minutes. The call came sooner than that. Achmed, the customer service representative, asked about the damage. He thought it was just a scratch on one of the doors. I described the damage and he arranged to have the unit picked up and a replacement sent. The media center is beautiful. The picture on the Wayfair website does not do it justice.
