The negatives for me are the side opposite of the desk is unfinished, it just has black backing on the side so it limits where the bed can be placed from an aesthetic perspective it basically has to be in a corner if you don’t want to see the black backing side. Great bed for a little girl! My daughter has been wanting a canopy bed and after several weeks of reviewing, we chose this one. It took my husband about 3 hours to assemble as it is very involved, but the instructions were well written. My biggest complaint is the 2 additional storage bins at the bottom of the bed, they aren’t actually attached to the bed, but rather, attach to a “hook” to stay in place and are a bit difficult to pull in and out as there is a specific way to remove the drawers from said hook. Took my daughter and I 3 hours to build but once completed the granddaughters were jumping all over the beds.
