I selected this particular table because the wood grain was real and not simulated. I was not disappointed! Assembly involved screwing 4 bolts per leg into threaded insert on the underside of the table top. They even provided a hex drive for a cordless screwdriver to expedite assembly. One curious element was how the legs were strapped into the back of the table with staples — which detracted from my perceived vale of the table. This table is PERFECT for my preschool classroom. Heavy, but that means it's very solid. Pretty easy to put together -- some of the holes to attach the legs didn't line up, but with a drill, it was easy to put a screw through the wood. The legs are adjustable, but you need to remove two bolts per leg to do it. So learn from my mistakes and make sure to measure the height you actually want, because it's annoying to do twice..
