Karastan Black Wool Rug

Striking just the right balance between understated and eye-catching, this handmade area rug features a classic oriental-inspired floral pattern in neutral navy, beige and brown tones. Since this traditional rug is hand-tufted in India from 100% wool with a medium 0.6" pile height, it’s well-suited for high-traffic rooms like your living room or entryway. Its canvas backing means that there's no need for a rug pad, but feel free to add one underneath if you like extra padding.

Perfect size and style. Would definitely recommend it.. Mary. Surrey, BC. Sat May 16 2026

This classic area rug delivers traditional style with a modern touch to your living room or dining room. A central medallion design dominates this rug in black and gold hues, taking inspiration from traditional Persian weaving patterns. This rug features a pile height that cushions your feet and warms your floors while withstanding heavy foot traffic in busy areas of your home. We recommend pairing this rug with a pad to ensure it stays put.

This hypnotic debut of our Spice Market Collection was inspired by a new world wonder, the ancient city of Petra. Also known as the Rose City for the color of the clay its mysterious rock-cut architecture is chiseled from, the design of our Petra area rug pays homage to its namesake with intricate artistry and jewel tones. Finished in our exclusive EverStrand™ fiber, the Petra is consciously created from up to 100% post-consumer content from plastic bottles. Available in two colorations, a darker charcoal design and a dazzling multicolor motif.

This is a really beautiful, thick rug and looks far better than pictured because the colors are just a little bit brighter. The border is actually a dark brown, so the rug goes well with my brown velvet couch. I also like the mildly distressed look. I have never been disappointed by a Karastan rug and like every other one I've ever had, this one looks like a very high-end choice. I was reluctant to buy a synthetic rug but took a chance because of past experiences with Karastan and I'm glad I did - I doubt you could beat or even match the quality in this price range.. Joie. This sleek rug boasts a bright and dramatic black colorway with texture-rich stripes creating a ridged high-low feel. In a soft combination of wool and viscose, this versatile accent lends a sophisticated style to modern homes.
