Most of the assembly was easy, though getting the footboard spindles to line up and fall into place in the lower rail was a challenge. I got these for our guest room with the matching dresser. The quality of the night stand was excellent. I love the spindles. I purchased the dark brown. The directions to assemble are pictures but I found them easy to follow. I recommend that you install the lower shelf when you are putting the two side pieces together rather than later as the directions indicate. Pleased with my purchase. The queen size bed frame and headboard came in excellent condition. The construction appears solid. Assembly took less than 30 minutes. However, if you arent very familiar with furniture assembly instructions, you may struggle a little as none of the pieces were labeled with the numbers used in the instructions. That being said, if you look carefully at the diagrams, you should be fine. Bed assembly is pretty straightforward. It does have a slight varnish smell that has started to fade after 3 days.. A..
