Ok, giving this 4.5 stars for aesthetic and solid wood frame. HOWEVER, please be cautioned There were some dings and splintering that are fortunately hidden after assembly with one acception. The assembly itself self took 2.5 hrs with a couple sanity breaks. Each spindled piece has an item sticker that would be visible and thus needed removal. I ruined my nails and spent 10x as long removing stickers and the glue as I did putting the head and footboard together. After FINALLY getting this bed put together, I almost cried contemplating the labor intensive deconstruction that would be required to take it out of the room. This project is not for the faint of heart. It is, indeed, a project. I would not deduct stars as paying for assembly is an option. Also, an oversight on my part, but the bedframe will not house a mattress and box spring, only a mattress. My biggest frustration was the assembly, and second the blemishes on the frame. Very solid frame. The biggest issue we had was not being aware that this bed needed a box frame. I assumed it came with slats to support the mattress, but was told that was not the case after contacting customer service about the issue. After having the frame for a month or so we have noticed a couple spots where the wood is splitting, but it's nothing that is deteriorating the sturdiness of the product. What a lovely bed! We have slept on it for the past few nights now, and it seems to be sturdy and of good quality. It holds our Avocado mattress and topper nicely, no box spring needed. The bed frame is lovely. I put it together by myself in about 2.5 hours. I did add extra slats because I worried that the spacing between them would be too far apart for my mattress. The color is SLIGHTLY warmer than pictured as others have said but it’s not like WARM. It’s been study so far and we love how it looks in our room. The bed itself is beautiful and looks great in my guest bedroom—it feels solid and well-made, which is the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars. Unfortunately, everything else went downhill from there. As is often the case with Wayfair, the item arrived damaged. The wood had visible dings, screws were missing, and the shipment came in two boxes delivered on separate days, which delayed assembly. Putting it together wasn’t smooth either. The instructions were fairly clear, but the screw holes didn’t align properly, making it impossible to assemble the bed perfectly.. Caryn. US.
