Ok, giving this 4.5 stars for aesthetic and solid wood frame. HOWEVER, please be cautioned There were some dings and splintering that are fortunately hidden after assembly with one acception. The assembly itself self took 2.5 hrs with a couple sanity breaks. Each spindled piece has an item sticker that would be visible and thus needed removal. I ruined my nails and spent 10x as long removing stickers and the glue as I did putting the head and footboard together. After FINALLY getting this bed put together, I almost cried contemplating the labor intensive deconstruction that would be required to take it out of the room. This project is not for the faint of heart. It is, indeed, a project. I would not deduct stars as paying for assembly is an option. Also, an oversight on my part, but the bedframe will not house a mattress and box spring, only a mattress. My biggest frustration was the assembly, and second the blemishes on the frame. I got these for our guest room with the matching dresser. The quality of the night stand was excellent. I love the spindles. I purchased the dark brown. The directions to assemble are pictures but I found them easy to follow. I recommend that you install the lower shelf when you are putting the two side pieces together rather than later as the directions indicate. The lower shelf won’t slide in if the other pieces are tightened. Because of the curves in the spindles. I’m a 62 year old woman and had no problem putting these together myself.. Nancy.
