Just what we needed for our new 12’ x 12’ cantilever umbrella to be able to move it around. Very big and sturdy base that supports the umbrella well. The only issue my husband was worried about was the fact smaller rocks could easily fall out through the large hole screen it comes with in the bottom of the squares. We just got two of these set up and they seem nice, but have barely used them yet. My main issue was the inability of Wayfair to send anyone who could put them together. They are too large for one person and, while I had paid for assembly, neither the delivery guys or the assembly team (which turned out to be the same delivery guys) could assemble it. As the rating scale indicates, this is JUST WHAT I NEED. For years, I have used cement paving stones to secure our giant umbrella. But those got very dirty. In comes this base. As shown, it is four pieces that securely fit on my cantilever umbrella. They were extremely easy to fill and not too heavy for me to carry myself. The water seems to be sealed in there tight. This umbrella anchor arrived very quickly and was well packaged. My husband recessed it into the decking so it would sit flush with the deck boards. He needed to add some blocking under the deck and he used 5.5 inch structural screws to anchor it to the deck underpinning’s. It worked very well and feels rock solid. Previously we had a 30 inch square thick plastic anchor which was so bulky you couldn’t slide chairs out on that side of the table. It’s extremely durable and very heavy, which makes it feel sturdy and secure. One thing that isn’t obvious in the product images is that the base is also massive. As you can see in my photos, it has a large footprint, so you’ll want to plan your layout accordingly. That said, the quality is excellent. At the 300 price point, you truly get what you pay for.
