Japanese Lantern Ceiling Lights

Our 1-light pendant puts a modern spin on a traditional paper lantern design. With a monochrome look, it features a circular white canopy base that supports a spherical paper shade, which comes in a muted hue of beige and off-white. The interior frame is stainless steel, and a single 100W max bulb is sold separately. A 5′ length of cord can be adjusted to suit the needs of your space, and it can be installed on sloped ceilings for your convenience.

These are lovely lights. I purchased 3 to hang from a high cathedral ceiling.The fabric has a very soft pattern that I believe helps to diffuse the light. Although the fabric appears a bright white, and depending on the bulbs you pick, when they are on, it is soft and muted. We put ours on a dimmer, and they can be bright or a really soft accent. At night, stunning. These are very elegant and I feel they can be used in any setting from mid century, to traditional. In my case, it is transitional.These are semi flush mount, and I needed them to hang about 3 feet lower, so we were able to find matching brass rods and the connectors and it looks wonderful. This worked perfectly to provide bright overhead lighting in my home office area, while coordinating with the decor in the room. The included ceiling anchor was weak and the light fell unexpectedly shortly after hanging, which caused two small tears in the paper shade - I recommend using your own extra-sturdy drywall anchor and hook for this. I also created a small paper and tissue cover that fits inside the bottom of the shade, in order to slightly diffuse the harsh LED daylight bulb I used.
