I don't think the cats like this but us humans love that the litter isn't tracked all over the place. I love how open it is. I kind of wish this one came with the step. Im not sure if the cats would use it, though. I already have one, and it has the front opening. My cats are both good size. This ones a little bit easier. I think for cats to go in and out of. Im not sure how long the bottom piece will last as it seems to be more material than hard plastic. I have had this now for about a month and I love it. I plan on getting another one and replacing the other one as they use this one most often. The other is the typical small opening and the waste draw is small and always needs to be adjusted as nothing falls forward and I can't find the right size bags, no company to order supplies from.. Really nice litter box, easy on off top, should be super easy to clean, and should eliminate the kicking of litter out of pan. Recommend. I am using this as a 'cup' to hold a large kitty litter box. My cats are large, and they tend to knock over the regular covered litter box, so I purchased this one to 'hold' the regular kitty litter box inside of it. The box itself is awesome! Stainless steel, so no more trapped odors and scratched up plastic bins. Front and top entries. Removable lid both partially and fully. Sturdy and high quality. Scooper included with a little groove on either side of the box to hang it on. Small litter trapper step that I don't think is beneficial for me because my cat BOLTS out of his box like he's being chased by a wolf! So I used a large litter mat (not that he actually walks out on it, but it might catch a tiny bit of litter while he's storming out lol) So far, my big guy showed no interest in actually using the box. He's a 14 lbs. domestic shorthair, but he's rather long. So the box might be a bit too small and tight for him. I am still hopeful he'd eventually put it to use because I absolutely love this box!.
