The dishes arrived yesterday and we had fun packing our old dinnerware into boxes to donate. Some items were in perfect shape but we had tired of them and they didn't go with our Arts & Crafts decor. The new dishes were packed securely and all pieces were perfect. They went into the dishwasher prior to use and today we'll start using them as our daily dinnerware. I will report back with a photo or two and whether or not the beautiful patterns held up in the dishwasher, unlike our old plates, which were bought online from another source only 3-4 years ago. "Dishwasher Safe" does not apply for all dinnerware, especially if it's really inexpensive, like our previous set was. Here's hoping this set will live up to its apparent quality and durability.. We love this set of Mikasa bone china. We bought it to replace another Mikasa set that has a metal lining on every plate. We specifically wanted one that was dishwasher and microwave safe. The artwork on the plates is beautiful and looks much better in person. The plates are lightweight and much lighter than our equivalent size ceramic plates. They didn't stain after we ate curry on them. We hand washed and also washed them in the dishwasher. They came out perfect both times. If I can edit my review later, I'll try to add some photos. We ordered three sets. One to use daily, another set for guests, and a third set in case we have any accidents.. Howard. Tue Jul 22 2025
