This rug is beautiful and ties the room together very nicely. I added a 1/2 inch pad which has helped with cushioning since the rug itself is thin. It’s soft to walk on, and the pattern & two-tone colour variation brings a lot of warmth and camouflages stains well because my cat vomited on it shortly after laying it out. This is a really beautiful wool rug that is currently selling for almost three times as much under another brand. It is all that I hoped for. I know it is hard shopping for neutral colored rugs online, so I included a photo with a neutral undertone wheel in natural light for reference. The recessed parts of the rug have a slight green-beige cast, and the raised parts are a very light taupey cream variegated with a pink beige that looks like a light tint of a maroon brown in the darkest parts. I think it coordinates well with natural linen color and unbleached cotton as well as cool sandy tans or mocha and cocoa colored neutrals. It might look dirty next to yellowy creams or light tints of cool blue grays. I included a photo with a natural straw mat and a bamboo box to show how it would look next to light wood with a more yellow cast. This jute rug is perfect for my office! I love the size, and the jute is surprisingly soft. From what I can tell so far, it’s not shedding much at all and it didn’t have any weird smell or shedding right out of the package, which was a huge plus.
