I chose it to keep my desk surface clean, and it works well as a dedicated task light. I still use other ambient lighting in the room. Bright light with a compact design. The base is a nice warm gold tone. For me it’s limiting because the only way to turn it on is via the button on the wire at the base but where I have to plug it in the button is under other furniture.
