Solid wood however when I went to secure the one of the legs with the cross bar the whole for the crew bolt in the leg with an approx. an 1/8” off. I had to use a rat tail file in side the leg hole to open it enough for the bolt to align properly. Took about 20 mins to smooth out. We needed a small and simple bench for entry hallway. Most are much bigger so this works. Made of solid wood and looks nice, but rather plan. Only complaint is with the assembly technique of screwing in the bottom shelf with angular pre drilled holes, the shelf does not quite have a snug fit.
