Pretty easy and straightforward to build. Didn’t take me too long. The actual headboard part however is a lot smaller than the images, or maybe it is because I bought a thicker mattress. I’m in love with the frame! I’ve had it a couple of months now and it’s holding well! It does come with wooden slats, to which I had to cover with a blanket because I was using an air mattress until my actual mattress came in and didn’t want to take any chances of it popping. I did have a different frame from Wayfair (the canopy frame which also held up wonderfully) but I’ve been eyeing this one (even before the canopy) and once I moved it was the perfect opportunity to snag it! It’s an eye catching piece. Some issues with this piece is the metal wear and scuffing. We also had a bit of difficulty putting this thing together. This is a super heavy bed, almost 200lbs. It took my husband and I about 2 hours to assemble due to some of the pieces not quite aligning all the way. We had to loosen a few to get the other screws to properly align. We kept a a box spring on this bed for height. Would recommend keeping screws loose until the headboard and frame are complete. Then tighten everything up at the end. Fits just right in our master!.
