I have tried several electric log sets and been extremely disappointed. Nothing on the market that’s a log set looks close to being a real fire experience. But this Napoleon sets comes closest. I assembled it myself in about 30 minutes. Instructions were easy. The “glowing fire “ could be more realistic, the flames could be higher and wider and the blower on the heater could be quieter. I paid much more for other log sets that couldn’t hold a candle (or flame ) to this set. Terrific heater! We had an electric fireplace from another box store that the warming unit went bad in and I was unable to get any replacement parts for. The measurements of this unit were correct so I replaced the other heater with this and it has worked perfectly, it even looks better than the original! I’m do agree with others that the crackling sound is not realistic so we don’t turn it on. This is a very handsome insert. I needed to replace a 33 " x 26 " insert and this fit perfectly without using the trim kit. Great little space heater for small spaces! It’s very compact as shown when compared to a tissue box. Doesn’t stick out far from the wall. It has a place to wrap up excess cord on the back. Nice little handle for carrying and lightweight.It feels like it puts out a decent amount of heat considering its small size but I don’t think it would do well in big rooms or large spaces as sole source of heat.  The color is more of a yellow white/cream which gives it a kind of antique feel.
