Love this desk! One of the gears does not line up super square, and there was plenty of casting sand attached to the legs. One small ding in the front of the desk top, but not a big deal to me. Others have commented that the desk does not move up & down readily. It makes me wonder if they put any grease on the worm gear. Be generous with the grease. Desk works great! I did not tighten the wood handle super tight, so it rotates in my hand when I lower the desk. I also skip it when raising the desk top. Instead I use the wheel, like on a large valve or a ships hatch. Not as convenient as mashing a button, but it goes with the style. Plenty of room for double 24” montiors. I absolutely love this pedestal table, and I get so many comments on the uniqueness of it. The only problem is that it came spray painted silver and I wanted it black. But I made that happen with a can of spray paint and distressed it with metallic bronze. I also wanted to "warm" up the look to this industrial piece to match the other industrial style pieces that I have, so I took some pine shiplap that I stained brown and fastened it to the top.. This table is EXACTLY what we have brn searching for. A 48 inch,ROUND table that is bar height...not easy to find. But we did and we are so happy with this table. My husband did put a clear coat over the wood. It seemed like if anything spilled it would have soaked into the table. Its beautiful, great quality, we highly recommend. There was a hole in the package when it arrived so I figured it had some damage but had to unwrap it to see for sure. It’s heavy for me so I put the legs together and then put the top on and that’s where it was dinged. I’ll keep it since I can put something on top of the ding. It’s a center ding the size of a dime with small, less obvious dings around it. I’m fairly sure it was damaged in transit. Overall it’s a very nice piece and works well for the home I’m staging.. Two holes were stripped and screws would not thread in. Very poor instructions. Table frame is greyish, not black. Top is not wood, but I knew this. It’s actually quite nice. This table is lovely. It is a bit confusing to put together because the instructions are poorly done. The handle is different from the picture but I don’t mind that. The lock nut mechanism underneath is also different but better I think. Use the picture to see how the bolts are put in because on the directions they’re not correct.
