I had a lovehate relationship with these chairs immediately. I absolutely love the cane back, and I love the black frame, because it offers beautiful contrast. But the white linen was very cheap, very thin, wrinkled almost immediately, and I knew it would be worn out in a month. The matching lumbar pillow was very flimsy and offered absolutely no support, support that would be important in such a deep chair. But I couldnt get over the potential of these chairs. At the behest of a friend, I decided to look into the option of reupholstering the chairs. I thought it would be cost prohibitive. It certainly wasnt cheap, but, all in, they ended up costing about what a custom chair would cost. This way I got what I wanted. I love the fabric that I picked, and I still love the way it looks with the black frame and the Beautiful cane. Chair is made very well. Looks fabulous, but cloth material is cheap. No back support, the chair is so deep you can’t reach the back. The pillow for the back is a quarter of what it should be in thickness. You’re going to have to buy very thick pillows to get a chair that is suitable. Really nice quality chair! The bamboo seems to be real bamboo, which is amazing, because most of the “rattan” furniture nowadays seems to be PVC. The only thing I’m second guessing is the white fabric… which may get dirty outside, so I might have to find covers or replace the cushions next year if they don’t survive without getting too dirty.
