The Silverback 54-inch NXT portable basketball hoop continues to push the envelope for portable hoops, now featuring an upgraded height actuator that smoothly adjusts the rim from 7.5' up to a full 10' regulation height. This new and improved actuator allows growing players to train at comfortable heights or scale all the way up to pro-level play with ease. Combined with this enhanced versatility, the advanced technology and strategic engineering of this goal make for faster assembly, improved rebound, superior strength, unmatched stability, and effortless transportability. Compare the features of the Silverback NXT to other portable goals on the market, and you will see why this hoop remains the ultimate choice for home courts. A major foundation of this performance is Stabili-Frame technology, which creates unmatched stability for increased playability and added safety. The slanted pole design was engineered to offer even weight distribution across the entire base, and unlike competitor goals, the pole directly connects to the steel frame below the base to increase the overall integrity of the structure. This stands in stark contrast to most traditional portable hoops that utilize a standard blow-molded base as a support structure—which is typically the first piece to crack and fail. Furthermore, the specialized shape of the base and the weighted ballast wheels create an optimal center of gravity, ensuring your goal will stay safely upright during intense play. When it comes to authentic court responsiveness, the Infinity Edge Backboard sets a new standard. Unlike traditional backboards that are framed by a restrictive plastic or metal edge, this design features innovative folded edges for increased rigidity. This manufacturing technique folds the edges of the material backward, creating a much stronger face for superior, gym-quality rebound. When you need to clear the driveway, the Ergo-Move sloped base design creates a completely unique weight distribution that allows the goal to be moved by two people with much greater ease than traditional systems. Mirroring the smart engineering of a wheelbarrow, this design enables the goal to be tilted backward onto its large, weighted wheels, relieving much of the physical weight that a person must lift and support. The hoop can then be easily rolled to its new location while a built-in rear kickstand prevents the goal from accidentally tipping over during transport. Finally, because no one likes frustrating, multi-day assembly projects, the QuickPlay design ensures that putting the hoop together is as simple as possible. The NXT arrives partially assembled with attached hardware, allowing you to simply connect the major structural pieces using only a few required tools. This efficient engineering allows you to fully assemble your goal in approximately 90 minutes, getting you off the sidelines and into the game faster than ever.
I have never owned or used a basketball hoop so selecting one for my kids was tough. I read so many reviews that it eventually seemed that unless you spend 1000 bucks, you dont get quality. My initial hope to spend less than 300 had to be forgotten- it seems that all those come from the same Asian factory and have the same issues. Then I read somewhere about Gorilla. The positive reviews were much more numerous than elsewhere and so I decided to spend more but be sure both my tall teenager and my shorter girl will be able to use it and enjoy it.
The bow arrived in good shape. You really need to be two for the assembly and you need a wrench with some add ons that I actually do not own. Luckily there were handymen in our house and so borrowed theirs…
We assembled it with my 15 yrs old son on our driveway. Double-checking every step not to make an mistake took us 2 hours in total. The assembly is not hard and the instructions were pretty clear. The hardest part came at the end, when tightening the screws of the basket rim. This required a bit of patience.
Also, be sure to get something sturdier to lay the pole on than just the regular trashbin like we did. At some point the weight of the hoop pushed through the top of the bin:). But we moved quickly and saved the situation.
Moving the hoop is safer with two people.
Using the handke to change the height from a kids height to a teenage height is so easy that my little daughter can do it herself.
The hoop looks nice.
We havent had major winds yet, but i plan to put an extra stabilisation bag onto the base just in case.. Tom13. Maryland. Thu Aug 20 2026
