I love that this candle is wax instead of plastic. Also, it has three wicks which makes it special. You can use it as a flickering candle or steady light. This turned out to be a bit large for my lantern (I should have measured better) but I like it so much, I found another use for it. I'd also prefer a more realistic look, like wax with dripping, etc, but the effect of the flickering and the brightness make this a spectacular candle. These pair of candles are super fun with a near life-like flame. They do require two AAA batteries each (they, unfortunately, did not come in the box), but easy enough! Advertising photo is deceptive. These are silver gray metallic and lovely candles when lit, but they NEVER achieve that dark smoky look.
