The trash can has to sit a little bit out from the wall or counter in order to open completely. The order arrived two days later than the original prediction. These are just as advertised. I am uploading a photo with a soda can for size reference because even though I measured, they seem smaller than what I imagined. However, they suit their purpose. I like that they have a handle to carry them with. In order to stack them, that handle needs to be down. I may paint mine to make them more aesthetic. Very handy to have around the house.. Kathy.
