Very soft and as described. Washed it before using and it washed up great. No pilling or shredding but mostly importantly it retain it's softness. My husband grew up sleeping on Mexican fur blankets #iykyk so getting him used to a proper fitted and top sheet was not easy. Hubby approves of this blanket he says its even softer than expected. I am obsessed with the beautiful Queen size electric blanket with dual controls — it is utterly and completely gorgeous! It’s a nice thickness (not ultra thin and cheap feeling), it is luxuriously SOFT on the faux fur side, and even the Sherpa side (which isn’t my personal favorite) is quite soft compared to some Sherpa’s. It is well-made with no loose threads or stitching, and I love the beautiful rich grey! I am sorry I can’t show photos right now with it literally on my bed, but it is heading toward Summer here in the Midwest, and so we literally just changed out our Winter bedding. The only reason I took “a part” of that 5th star off is price. If you shop around, you can find good brands with great deals at nearly half the price. That said, even without a sale, the price for this blanket isn’t horrible. So far so good. Washed upon receiving without issue. Color as expected (very rich true purple). Lightweight, breathable blanket. Soft enough. Was aiming for color and Breathability. In fact, I bought this same down alternative blanket in light blue for the master bedroom and two dark blue blankets for the bedroom that has two queen beds. The throw is perfect and very pretty! The only reason I rated it a four is because it had a horrible chemical smell to it. Don't know if it's from storing it in a warehouse and they spray back there or what? I washed it and the smell is slowly fading but will have to wash it again.
