I wanted to use this more as a place to hold outdoor utensils, plates, etc. for our patio. This is truly more of a potting bench. It is not waterproof. I think water could get in pretty easily through the way the planks are constructed. It was easy to put together. It is a bit on the rustic side (drawers are clunky). The bench is beautiful. I love Wayfair. Its the instructions that suck. Though the right side drawer if off a bit, but I will handle that. Seriously!! I have built so many things from Wayfair. When I started ordering furniture 2 years ago the instructions and how the screws and bolts were identified was awesome. Now they are all thrown in a bag together. Not marked, The instructions don't help identify them. Half the stuff that you MUST use is not in the instructions, you have to guess where to use it and how. Its ridiculous. Leaving a second review as I don’t see my first one listed This product is made of really inexpensive pinewood with a very light spray paint is it a scratch and comes off when you wipe It’s listed as an outdoor potting bench when it actually rained water fell through the gaps of the countertop ended up in my drawer this took me an hour and a half to put together and I recommend highly if you want to last more than one summer just give it a varnish coat. It will extend the life of this piece and also make it waterproof. Overall, it’s a nice piece. Love it. Was able to put it together myself, but it took all day, lol! Someone else may have been able to put it together faster though. There are pictures with the directions, but they don’t accurately depict which way some of the pieces go, and I made several mistakes along the way because of it. Now that it’s done, I love it. The product is made of rubberwood with four metal pillars. It comes with four wooden pillars, three drawers on the left side (with metal slides) for smooth sliding without sticking, and one cabinet on the right side (side-opening door) with adjustable handles on both sides and rubber covers on both ends. It took me 3 nights to put together. One night to unpack, organize, question my sanity, google how much it would cost to pay someone to put it together, and hype myself up. Two nights to actually assemble. I’m just a girl, maybe it wouldn’t take you that long. It said to not use a drill but I took that as a suggestion and used a drill. It wasn’t hard to put together. The cabinet is great, drawers are smaller than what I expected. The delivery company showed up an hour after the expected time frame. I had checked with them to see how long they would be about 30 minutes before the end of the time frame and was told they were on the way. In most respects, the bench is just what I needed. The one negative issue is that the whole assembly flexes from side-to-side. I fixed this by bolting a cross member between the ends to keep them evenly spaced top-to-bottom. Then I added a stiff diagonal brace to prevent racking.
