The bed is definitely all hard wood. It’s not the type of hardwood you could sand and refinish in the future. It also arrived without any broken pieces. It’s a pretty bed, but we are giving it a 45 because we wanted something subtle. The bed is kind of big and the headboard is massive. It’s an eye catching piece. Some issues with this piece is the metal wear and scuffing. We also had a bit of difficulty putting this thing together. This is a super heavy bed, almost 200lbs. It took my husband and I about 2 hours to assemble due to some of the pieces not quite aligning all the way. We had to loosen a few to get the other screws to properly align. We kept a a box spring on this bed for height. Would recommend keeping screws loose until the headboard and frame are complete. Then tighten everything up at the end. Fits just right in our master!. The bed is really pretty, sturdy, solid wood, but it’s a few things that prevent me from giving 5 stars. No instructions, took some time to find them online. The headfootboardsside rails don’t perfectly line up, which bothers the perfectionist in me. Not enough screws included to screw in both sides of each slat, had to do every other. **Overall** Great Bed, Nice Finish. Color of the metal is more of copper than rose gold (like in the picture) The metal strip on the headboard started to chip from the sides (Picture attached).
