I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to build. You do need a screwdriver for the door handles which is a little silly considering the rest of the pieces just click together. It is STURDY, I misaligned the one door and it took some serious muscle to get it apart. Given that the item is for cats who are notorious for chaos, I think that’s a good thing. The doors on the front are nice and secure, no swinging open and the side flaps for the litter box access are easy to use. My cat was swatting them before I had even finished the build. I like this pet bed. It's a nice weight and I can put different beds or blankets inside. Also please note that it is big enough for any size cat. It makes a great hideaway from our Newfie too.
