With Wayfair, you never know what you're going to get, but this bed is nicer than we were expecting! The headboard and footboard are solid wood and the sides slide in easily. Our king size Sleep Number bed fits great with room for the head and foot to lift. The Friel Bed embodies a marriage of sustainability and timeless design. Crafted from reclaimed solid wood sourced from diverse origins, this bed stands as an eco-friendly marvel, contributing to the responsible use of natural resources. The naturally timeworn appearance, marked by nail and bolt holes, bug holes, water and mineral staining, checking, and open knots, tells a story unique to each piece. The strength of reclaimed wood, seasoned through years of service, is reinforced with a finger-joining technique, allowing the creation of the hallmark long planks of the Friel. The multi-step finish, featuring a rustic brown with gray undertones and charcoal glazing, enhances the heavily distressed look. The gracefully curved headboard offers pillow propping ease for bedtime reading, while the sturdy 400-pound capacity footboard seating bench provides a practical spot for daily routines. Compliant with safety standards and backed by a 1-year limited warranty, this bed offers rustic comfort and peace of mind, reflecting a commitment to both style and safety.

The bed is sturdy, and looks as pictured. It was delivered in a few pieces and required assembly on site, but it wasn’t so bad. That said, the manufacturer assembly instructions were sparse and the side boards were a different part number than the slats were intended to pair with, so we had to modify some of the assembly which was a little frustrating. Still a good product overall and I’m happy with it. Caitlyn. Pleasant Grove, UT. Tue Jul 07 2026
