Great concept for my camper / RV. I don't have a sink in my bathroom and want to mount it in the shower using the existing shower head connection and drain in the shower floor.
There aren't any instructions and Wayfair doesn't provide a detailed description or photos, and I am not a plumber but brought the sink into my home improvement store for their help, so I hope this can be of help to you.
What I had to buy to connect the sink for a test run:
1.) Shower diverter: Split/divert the water between the handheld shower head and a hose leading to the sink. I removed the handheld shower head and screwed the diverter onto the nipple. Then screwed the handheld shower head onto one of the threaded outputs of the diverter.
2.) 1/2" x 1/2" FNPT Female Adapter (CPVC Fitting): This screws onto the remaining (second) threaded output of the diverter.
3.) 3/8" inside diameter (flexible) vinyl tubing: One end of the tubing goes into the above 1/2" x 1/2" FNPT Female Adapter and on the other end, insert the water input tube at the bottom of the sink through which the water feeds in.
4.) Hose clamp: the clamp is needed to secure the 3/8" inside diameter (flexible) vinyl tubing which slides onto the water input tube above
5.) 3/4" x 3/4" FNPT Female Adapter (CPVC Fitting): this screws onto the drainage hole on the bottom of the sink
6.) 7/8" outer diameter (flexible) vinyl tubing: this inserts into the 3/4" x 3/4" FNPT Female Adapter (CPVC Fitting) above and allows the draining water to be directed down to my existing shower drain in the floor (so there wouldn't be splashing from draining from the height of the sink).
Sounds complicated but now that you know the parts of the puzzle, putting them together was quite simple.
Outcome of my test run
1. Hot and cold water: YES you can get both. Since I split the existing shower connection, the hot and cold knobs of the shower control the single stream of water that feeds into the sink.
2. Cleaning: The water in the folding tray just dumps into the basin before it drains out. So all of the scum and dirt will settle in the basin. There was no information as to how to access that basin to clean it out. I figured out that the folding tray can flip all the way out and down to reach inside. Just gently lift the soap tray out of the way and it will clear it.
3. Shut off valve: Never knew it had one. I found out by accident. When you fold the faucet into the sink by pushing it off to the left, it shuts off the water.
Problem:
1. The shut off valve leaks! It sprays out water from the bottom corner of the sink. My RV operates at 40 psi for the water pressure, it doesn't seem the valve can handle the pressure.
Mounting:
There are four (4) predrilled holes (2 on top, 2 on bottom). Screws and anchors are supplied in the box. However if your RV is like mine, the walls are too flimsy to support this 13lb sink, not to mention the added weight of the water when the sink is full. I have not solved the mounting problem yet.
Delivery:
The folding tray was bent in upon the package arrival. There wasn't a dent, but I needed to bend it back into place in order for it to open and close properly.
