I just had this delivered and I am very pleased with it. It was an expensive piece but in my opinion worth the money. Looks very high quality and well made. I've had this flooring in my home for a few years now. Decided to finish out one last room and realized we short. Ordered two more boxes from Wayfair. They came fast and worked great. This floor is forgiving for most things. It can scratch if you move furniture around carelessly but I haven't had too many issues other than dropping something sharp (a vent cover) on it. This bench is a beautifully crafted piece that will serve as a dining bench in the breakfast room of our mountain house. It is heavy and stable. (about 70 pounds). Can seat 3 kids...The alder top finish looks very red and I may have to stain it darker as it doesn't match my alder pieces. The packing was overkill and very difficult to unpack. We source our hickory from the American southeast where it is harvested in late fall and through mid-winter when its moisture content is low. From here it is kiln-dried to further remove moisture and the bark tightens around the logs during the process providing a truly beautiful texture, and a time-tested look and durability.
